South Africa Chinese Church Dedicates Building
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (September 15, 2002) - The South Africa Chinese Covenant Church (SACCC) recently celebrated the dedication of a newly purchased building located in Johannesburg's Edenvale neighborhood.SACCC is a seven-year-old congregation under pastor Frank Tuan. It has been ministering to those who speak Mandarin and have immigrated from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and elsewhere. SACCC also is planning to start a new church in the Chinatown area of Johannesburg. Most Chinese immigrants find their way to this part of the city as they arrive in South Africa for the first time. The church has also ministered to those who have contracted the HIV/AIDS virus.
In the future, the congregation would like to reach English-speaking Chinese in the community. Two short-term missionaries will be working at SACCC in English ministry for two years while they are raising their support for missionary service.
Those interested in short-term English ministry at SACCC can email Covenant missionaries Dave and Judy Dolan at djdolan@attbi.com for more information.
