North Park Downs Elmhurst in Saturday Action
NAPERVILLE, IL (April 15, 2002) - North Park University (NPU) scored four runs in
the sixth inning to break a three-all deadlock and beat Elmhurst College in
the first of two games at a tournament at North Central College Saturday.
Kim Walker scattered nine hits against Elmhurst and struck out six to move
to 10-10 this spring. The Vikings fell to 13-16 overall by losing 12-0 to
North Central College in game two.
Trailing 3-2, Stephanie Thompson's RBI single tied the game in the fourth
inning. NPU used a run-scoring single by Nicole Reynolds, a bases-loaded
walk to Jenny Hyneman, a sacrfice fly by Walker and an Elmhurst error to
score its four sixth-inning runs. Walker drove in two runs while Katie
Ritti added two hits for the Vikings.
