Santa Barbara Church Dedicates Facility Expansion
SANTA BARBARA, CA (March 29, 2002) - Community Covenant Church of Goleta
celebrated the dedication of its worship center expansion last Sunday
with nearly 750 attending worship services.
The $450,000 expansion includes an extension of the worship center,
which provided an additional 150 seats. The church repaved its parking
lot and added another classroom while remodeling bathrooms, according to
Beverly Matlick, church secretary.
Community Covenant of Goleta averages a combined total of more than 600
individuals in worship services. Many students from nearby Westmont
College, the University of California-Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara
City College have become regular attendees and a thriving youth
ministries program has helped boost family attendance.
Senior pastor Dennis Wadley celebrated his 10th anniversary at the
church earlier this month. Wadley and his family recently have been
involved in mission work to South Africa, focusing their efforts on
helping people with AIDS.
