El Cajon Covenanter Receives Citizen of Year Award

EL CAJON, CA (March 28, 2002) - Bill Fischbeck Bill Fischbeck of Community Covenant Church recently was named El Cajon Citizen of the Year for his work with local Boys and Girls clubs during the past two decades.

Fischbeck, who has been active on church boards for Community Covenant, organized the club's first fundraising auction in 1982 when he was president of the El Cajon Girls Club board.

Last year, he and his wife, Marilee, were among local Boys and Girls Club board members honored for having "gone beyond the call of duty in their devotion, time and giving" to the organization.

An attorney in East San Diego County since 1976, Fischbeck is a member of the law firm of Fischbeck and Oberndorfer in La Mesa. He pursued his law education at Western States University (now Thomas Jefferson School of Law) in San Diego after earning a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa.
