North Park Professor Receives Fulbright Award

CHICAGO, IL (March 5, 2002) - Elizabeth Ritt, dean of professional education and continuing studies and a professor at North Park University (NPU), was selected for a Fulbright Scholar Award in the U.S.-Germany International Educational Education Administrators Program for the 2002-03 academic year.

Ritt will travel to Belgium to do research, which will include clinical information systems, models of leadership development, organizational development, work culture and performance improvement. She is one of approximately 225,000 individuals who have benefited from the Fulbright Program, which has been operating through the United States government for more than 50 years.

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from North Park, Ritt earned a Master of Science in nursing in adult health nursing/education from Loyola University in Chicago. She received her Doctor of Education in leadership and educational policy studies from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.

Before heading to North Park as an educator, Ritt was vice president of education and leadership consultation for the Magellan Management Group in Naperville, Illinois, principal partner of Life Support Systems, Inc. in Lake Zurich, and director of education at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest.
