Minnehaha Coach to be Inducted into Hall of Fame
ST. PAUL, MN (March 1, 2002) - Guido Kauls, a longtime German teacher and soccer coach for Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, will be inducted into the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Hall of Fame March 21 in the Grand Ballroom of the TouchStone Energy Center in St. Paul.Kauls, who attends Bethlehem Covenant Church in Minneapolis, was 499-275-75 as a high school girls and boys soccer coach for the school before retiring last year. Already a member of the Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame, Kauls earned Coach of the Year honors in Minnesota in 1981 when the boys team was the state runner-up. Son, Alex, is now the head coach for the Redhawks' soccer program.
Minnehaha Academy, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a school supported by the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. The MSHSL Hall of Fame honors those making significant contributions in one or more activities in athletics, fine arts and other extracurricular programs in Minnesota. Honorees include Major League Baseball Hall of Fame members Dave Winfield and Paul Molitor.
