Great Exchange Church Holds Grand Opening
SUNNYVALE, CA (January 15, 2002) - Meeting at a new hotel in a new city, The Great Exchange Covenant Church had its grand opening service January 13 with 222 in attendance.
The Great Exchange Covenant Church previously met at a Mariott Hotel in nearby San Jose, attracting 155 to its final preview service December 2. Preview services began October 14 with Newsong Community Covenant Church in Irvine providing assistance in leading worship. The congregation provided its own worship team for the grand opening.
Pastor David Chae, who was an associate at Newsong, is the lead pastor at The Great Exchange Covenant Church. The church plans to begin four small group Bible studies. With a core group membership of 40, the congregation seems to be on solid footing. A recent 10,000-card mailing to local residents hopefully will encourage more visitors at upcoming services.
