Iowa Pastor Receives Achievement Award

SIOUX CITY, IA (November 27, 2001) - Richard Moore, pastor at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Sloane, recently received the Alzheimer's Association's Outstanding Achievement Award from Iowa's Big Sioux Chapter.

Moore was one of two recipients of the Big Sioux Chapter honored at a recognition dinner November 14. The event was held in celebration of National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month.

Besides being a longtime advocate for individuals with Alzheimer's diseases and related disorders, Moore joined the association on a trip to Washington, DC, to speak with legislators. The award acknowledged what the association deemed as "an outstanding contribution enabling the provision of services and support to the increasing numbers of families affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders."
