Candidates Sought for Administrative Assistant Role
CHICAGO, IL (November 17, 2001) - Applications are being accepted for a position as administrative assistant in the Department of Administration of the Evangelical Covenant Church.The full-time position reports to the vice president of administration and provides support in a number of areas, including:
- Office assistance to the human resources manager
- Reimbursement process for departmental staff, certain boards and commissions
- Maintaining records for legal, organizational and congregational files
- Correspondence for the vice president of administration
- Telephone receptionist for the department
- Pension plan support
The successful candidate must be able to mange time well. Strong verbal customer-assistance skills and knowledge of Word 2000 and Excel software are required. The ability to work with PowerPoint, Outlook and Desktop Publishing software is desired. Multitasking and the ability to work within system structures are required skills. Experience in a work setting with a variety of demands is preferred.
This position requires the individual to climb several flights of stairs each workday and to work in an office with other people, sometimes sitting at a computer for several hours. Communicating clearly with the vice president about duties and responsibilities is expected, as is understanding and supporting the administrative needs of a large organization. A personal commitment to Christ and the work of the Christian church provides the highest motivation for this job.
