Lundbom Awarded Fulbright Grant

CHICAGO, IL (November 1, 2001) - Dr. Jack R. Lundbom, a graduate of North Park Theological Seminary (NPTS) and North Park Academy, has been awarded a Fulbright grant to conduct research at the University of Tubingen in Germany. He is one of approximately 2,000 U.S. grantees who will travel abroad for the 2001-2002 academic year through the Fulbright program.

Lundbom, who is from Chicago, has authored a book about famous Covenant painter Warner Sallman and a commentary on Jeremiah. He is currently a Fellow at the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem and is a Fellow of Clare Hall, University of Cambridge.

The Fulbright program has been in existence since 1946 and is designed to build mutual understanding between the United States and the rest of the world. It was introduced through legislation sponsored by the late Sen. J. William Fulbright of Arkansas and has been accessed by 88,000 U.S. students, teachers and researchers, as well as 146,000 individuals from other countries. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement and demonstrated extraordinary leadership or leadership potential in their fields.
