Applications Sought for Administrative Assistant Position

CHICAGO, IL (October 18, 2001) - Applications are being accepted for a position as administrative assistant to the vice president of administration/director of pensions in the Evangelical Covenant Church.

This position is responsible for managing a departmental office, providing personal assistance to the vice president, supporting the ministerial pension and benefit program and managing legal issues of the corporate secretary. This position handles many concurrent tasks with firm deadlines.

Responsibilities include various office management duties, serving as a confidential personal secretary and providing support for the pension program and the corporate secretary, including fielding calls, coordinating meetings and maintaining files.

Qualifications include a commitment to Christ and the mission/ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church, top organizational and detail orientation skills, as well as strong telephone and computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Access and Excel programs. A bachelor's degree is preferred - a high school diploma is required. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of administrative assistant experience.
