Men's Soccer Shuts Out Illinois Wesleyan

CHICAGO, IL (October 9, 2001) - Fredrik Airosto scored twice and goalie Matt Evans notched his second shutout of the week as North Park University defeated Illinois Wesleyan University 2-0 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's soccer match Saturday.

Airosto scored at the 61:00 mark and added another tally 18 minutes later as the Vikings moved to 5-6 overall, 3-1 in CCIW play. He has 10 goals and three assists for a team best 23 points.

On October 3, Airosto scored three goals as North Park beat visiting Carthage 4-0. For his career, the junior forward from Holysbybrunn, Sweden, has scored 27 goals and assisted on 16 others for 70 points.

In women's soccer play, North Park's Kristin Sellnow scored the opening goal of the match, but the Vikings lost 4-1 to Illinois Wesleyan Saturday. North Park is now 2-10 this fall.
