Covenant Youth Highlighted in Local Newsletters
CHICAGO, IL (October 1, 2001) - The Evangelical Covenant Church has much to be proud of when it comes to its children and young adults. After perusing approximately 150 church newsletters and gathering information from various phone calls and emails, the Department of Communication has collected a number of interesting insights into the activities of some of our youth:California
Hillside Covenant, Walnut Creek: Steven Fischback led his Little League (ages 10-12) team to a 24-0 record and pitched two no-hitters as his team won the area's Tournament of Champions. His father, Randy, was the team manager.

Faith Covenant, St. Petersburg: Austin Yee, Joshua Bowman and Kevin Riley were members of a baseball team that finished second in the 12 and under Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) national baseball tourney in Minnesota. One of the coaches for the team was Faith Covenant member Phil Yee.

Brantford Covenant, Clyde: Megan Sizemore and Erin Carlson attended the Future Business Leaders of America national finals in Orlando, Florida, as part of a four-person team from Clifton-Clyde High School. Both straight-A students are seniors at Clifton-Clyde High.
Fellow Brantford Covenant teen Eric Germann, a recent graduate of Clifton-Clyde High, was part of a first-place boys basketball team at the summer Mid-America Youth Basketball Tournament. His team was 8-0 during the event. Germann, a first-team All-League basketball player for his high school team, was also an honor student during the spring.
