Detroit Community Developer to Present Hallett Lecture
CHICAGO, IL (August 25, 2001) - Detroit community developer Dr. James Perkinson will present "Pleas for the Family Tree: Daring to Descry Development" at the third annual Stanley J. Hallett Lecture Series September 7 at North Park University.Perkinson is director of the Doctor of Ministry program and associate professor of ethics at Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit. He has a Ph.D. with a concentration in theology, race and culture from the University of Chicago Divinity School and earned Master of Divinity and Master of Theological Studies degrees from St. John's Provincial Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan.
The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson Chapel on the North Park campus, with a 7 p.m. reception preceding the presentation. The event is sponsored by North Park's Master of Arts in Community Development program and the Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education (SCUPE) in Chicago. The lecture is free and open to the public.
