Seeking Candidates for Administrative Assistant Positions
CHICAGO, IL (August 23, 2001) - Applications are being accepted for two administrative assistant positions at Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) offices - one full-time and one part-time.
The full-time position is administrative assistant to the vice president of administration/director of pensions. This position is responsible for managing the office, assisting the vice president, supporting the ministerial pension and benefit program and assisting in the management of legal issues on behalf of the corporate secretary. This position handles many concurrent tasks with firm deadlines.
A bachelor's degree is preferred - a high school diploma is required. The successful candidate will possess good organizational, telephone and computer skills and will be familiar with Microsoft Word, Access and Excel software. A minimum of five years of administrative assistant experience is required.

The part-time position is administrative assistant in National Covenant Properties, an ECC affiliate that provides loans to Covenant churches.
Responsibilities include answering incoming calls and mail inquiries, processing mail, making daily deposits, processing loan payments, maintaining scanned investment account files, maintaining voice mail messages for a direct 800 line, ordering office supplies, processing accounts payable invoices and assisting other staff members as needed.
The successful candidate will possess good organizational skills and will be able to work on multiple tasks and receive direction from more than one person. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is a dedication to quality customer service. The position requires computer experience, especially with various software programs including Office 2000, Peachtree Accounting, Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and a scanning/document retrieval program.
