Covenant Manor (MN) Dedicates $22 Million Expansion
GOLDEN VALLEY, MN (August 8, 2001) - Covenant Manor recently celebrated dedication of its Courtyard building with more 500 people in attendance.
Glenn R. Palmberg, president of the Evangelical Covenant Church, participated in the dedication ceremony as did Northwest Conference Supt. Paul Erickson. Other guests included Golden Valley Mayor Mary Anderson, David Dwight, president of Covenant Retirement Communities, and Harry Westberg, president of the Covenant Manor Resident Council.
"Everything came together in the last couple of days (prior to the dedication) and people were amazed and very grateful," said Tom Freudenstein, director of marketing for Covenant Manor. Self-guided tours were available, providing an opportunity for guests to see all of the improvements, which include a business center, beauty parlor, barber shop and gift shops.
Thirty neighbors, who are not residents of Covenant Manor, were treated to a "sneak preview" of the new facilities. A quarterly meeting of the CRC board preceded the dedication, providing an opportunity for board members to view the work as well.
The Courtyard expansion at Covenant Manor includes 123 new apartments at a cost of more than $22 million, according to Freudenstein. Eighty-four of the 123 units are already occupied, with other residents scheduled to move in during the next few months.
Covenant Manor is one of 15 not-for-profit retirement communities administered by Chicago-based Covenant Retirement Communities on behalf of the Board of Benevolence of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
