Alaska Christian College Dedication Scheduled in September
SOLDOTNA, AK (August 1, 2001) - Alaska Christian College (ACC) will be dedicated during a special service Sunday, September 16.
A large group of supporters and community representatives are expected to be on hand - along with the first class of students - to worship, cut a ribbon and tour the newly renovated campus. Neil Josephson, president of Covenant Bible College, will be the worship service speaker.
Construction of three cabin/dormitories is progressing, but additional volunteers are needed to complete the work, according to ACC President Keith Hamilton. "We are grateful for the hard work of two teams from Shawnee, Kansas, and Castle Rock, Colorado, and two teams from Arvada, Colorado," Hamilton said, noting the anticipated arrival of another team from Clairemont Covenant Church in San Diego. Hamilton hopes additional volunteers can be secured to complete the work in time for the September 16 celebration.
The college has 29 freshman applications for the fall term, with 11 ethnic groups represented and a nearly even gender balance, Hamilton reports. All faculty positions have been filled, but there remains a need for a volunteer cook and an administrative assistant. Interested individuals should contact Hamilton. "God has provided tremendously and we know He will continue to provide," Hamilton said.
The mailing address at the school has changed - the postal box number is no longer used. Mail should instead be directed to Alaska Christian College, 35109 Royal Pl., Soldotna, AK, 99669. For additional information about the school, its programs or the special dedication event, call Hamilton at 907-260-7422 or visit the college's website at www.AlaskaChristianCollege.org.
