Forest Lake Team Wins Covenant Invitational Title

BLOOMINGTON, MN (July 17, 2001) - Crossroads Covenant Red of Forest Lake, Minnesota, defeated Vista Covenant Church of New Richland, Minnesota, 11-7 Saturday for its second consecutive softball title at the 24-team Covenant Invitational at Dred Scott Fields in Bloomington.

In the third place game, Karmel Covenant Church (#1) defeated Linwood Covenant Church Green 15-1.

The Covenant Invitational has been in existence since 1970. Tourney director Gabe Gibson said 53 games were played with an estimated 400 in attendance during the day.
