Teens Complete Cross-Country Bike Journey

WHEATON, IL (July 6, 2001) - Three teens that traveled across the United States on bicycles completed their 27-day journey and are home safe.

Karl Brorson, Peter Frost and Dan Fernandes arrived at St. Simon's Island in Georgia June 29 after biking more than 2,700 miles. They drove home from Brunswick, Georgia, June 30 and celebrated their feat with a barbecue July 2, according to Peter's mother, Barbara.

Brorson, Frost and Fernandes attended Wheaton Academy in Wheaton, Illinois. Frost, who attends Faith Covenant Church in Wheaton, is attending Wheaton College in the fall. He and Fernandes recently graduated from high school. Brorson, who attends Naperville Covenant Church, recently finished his sophomore year of high school.

"You can't believe the outpouring of support from people who had no idea who these guys were," said Barbara Frost. "And the boys got along so well - it was like the Psalm about the (reference to) three-stranded chord - they made it because they stuck together."
