Annual Meeting Worship Services to be Broadcast
CHICAGO, IL (June 22, 2001) - Final details are nearing completion in preparation for the 116th Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church June 27-30, including plans for Internet coverage on the Covenant web site.
One of the highlights of this year's meeting is a vote on the proposed constitution and bylaws that were spread on the minutes of last year's meeting in St. Paul, Minnesota. Another is approval of an executive vice president for the denomination - Donn N. Engebretson is the candidate.
Plans call for live broadcasting of each of the three evening worship services over the Covenant web site. Those services will be recorded and will also be available on the web site for those desiring to view them at a later time. The number of browsers that can access the live broadcasts at any given time is very limited, so visitors to the site are encouraged to try again if the connection is busy.
The news team from the Department of Communication will be on hand throughout the event, covering the business sessions and other special activities. News stories, photographs and other information will be posted on the Covenant web site throughout each day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the meeting.
To access meeting coverage or link to the live broadcasts, visit the Covenant web site at www.covchurch.org. There visitors will find a special link containing the news coverage, along with administrative reports and other Annual Meeting information. Another link will guide visitors through the live broadcast process.
As with past years, all 2001 Annual Meeting news stories, photographs and broadcasts will be archived on the Covenant web site for future reference.
