Openings Remain in July Covenant Softball Invitational
BLOOMINGTON, MN (June 19, 2001) - A handful of slots are available for teams still wanting to play in the 32-team Covenant Invitational softball tournament July 14 at Dred Scott Fields in Bloomington.
The Covenant Invitational has been played since 1970, according to tournament director Gabe Gibson. Last year's 12-inch softball tourney drew 26 teams from area Covenant churches, mostly from Minnesota.
Entrants into the Covenant Invitational are guaranteed three 7-inning games for each $125 team fee. Games begin at 8 a.m. for some teams on four main fields. It is an open tourney - coed teams are welcome.
