Covenant Properties Adjusts Investment, Loan Rates
CHICAGO, IL (June 16, 2001) - The Board of National Covenant Properties today announced a change in interest rates offered by National Covenant Properties.
The rate for the Series A five-year certificate is 6 percent, effective immediately. The rate for the Series G 30-day demand certificate is 5 percent, and the rate for IRA accounts is 6 percent. Both the Series G and IRA rates will be effective July 1 and are subject to change as of January 1, 2002.
National Covenant Properties offers traditional, Roth, rollover and SEP IRAs. The 20-year loan rate also was changed to 7.25 percent.
National Covenant Properties, an affiliate of The Evangelical Covenant Church, is the primary lender to Covenant Churches for additions and new construction. Funds become available to make loans as individual, churches and organizations invest in the above investment vehicles. PITTSBURGH, PA (June 27) - Dr. Theodora "Teddy" Johnson, retired Covenant missionary doctor, died early this morning in Pittsburgh from complications following gall bladder surgery.
Known as "Doctor Teddy," the 90-year old Johnson served in Congo from 1939 to 1978. Following her retirement, she returned to her home in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, where she was involved in a local cancer prevention group. She also continued as a speaker at
churches and Covenant events, where she would show slides and talk about her experiences in Africa.
Dr. Teddy was featured in the November 2000 issue of The Covenant Companion.
