Ravenswood Daycare Director Named
CHICAGO, IL (May 30, 2001) - Adrienne Edlen, a member of Ravenswood Covenant Church, has accepted the position as executive director of the newly formed Ravenswood Community Daycare, Inc. She will begin her duties in June.Edlen, a director in human services at Harold Washington College in Chicago since 1997, currently manages a grant-funded training and education program for approximately 300 students working in child development. She also lectured on child development for the college while working three years as a site coordinator for Hug-a-Book, Inc., a literacy program.
After earning academic honors as an undergraduate at the University of Illinois-Chicago, Edlen completed a master of education program at National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. She also chaired the Central Conference Education and Leadership Commission from 1997-2000.
Ravenswood Community Daycare, Inc. is a partnership between Ravenswood Covenant Church, Amundsen High School and Ravenswood Hospital. The daycare center will begin operating this fall using church facilities, following completion of a $500,000 remodeling project this summer. Board members expect the center to serve approximately 45 children of Amundsen High School students.
