ABC Medical Editor to Speak at North Park University

CHICAGO, IL (April 18, 2001) - Dr. G. Timothy Johnson, one of the nation's leading medical communicators and an ordained Covenant pastor from Massachusetts, will speak at North Park University May 5 as part of the school's bioethics lectures.

Johnson, medical editor for ABC television's Good Morning America since 1975, will speak on "Reforming Health Care: Who? What? When? Where? Why?" The free lecture in Anderson Chapel begins at 9:30 a.m. and is open to the public as the last in a series of three Anderson Kim Bioethics Lectures.

A graduate of North Park University (then college) and North Park Theological Seminary, Johnson holds joint positions in medicine at Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is the founding editor of the Harvard Medical School Health Letter and co-editor of the Harvard Medical School Health Letter Book.

The Anderson Kim Bioethics Lectures were organized by a number of faculty members in various departments at the university. They provide an open forum for education and discussion of important ethical issues that appear in medicine and the sciences.

For more information on the lectures, contact Jenny Holmgren Cobbley at 773-244-5567.
