Replacement Sought for Retiring Gilman Robinson

CHICAGO, IL (March 15, 2001) - A search is under way for an individual to replace Gilman Robinson as executive director of Covenant Estate Planning Services and president of Covenant Trust Company, effective September 1. Both entities are part of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC).

"He has provided outstanding leadership to this organization over the past years," said ECC President Glenn R. Palmberg of Robinson's service. "We extend thanks and best wishes."

A search committee is accepting applications and resumes until March 22. Individuals interested in being considered for the position should direct a letter of introduction and a resume to the attention of Joey Ekberg, administrative assistant to President Palmberg. Covenant Estate Planning Services works with members and friends of Covenant ministries by providing resources, information and assistance in estate and financial planning. Since this office was established in 1978, more than 3,000 wills, trusts, gift annuities and other types of deferred gift agreements have been completed.

Covenant Trust Company is a non-depository trust company chartered in 1988 and regulated by the Illinois Office of Banks and Real Estate, Bureau of Banks and Trust Companies. It provides trustee and investment management services to individuals and organizations in all 50 states. It serves as managing agent for various denominational funds and also works with individuals, local churches, conferences and other entities to provide management and investment services. Covenant Trust Company serves as trustee or agent for more than 1,250 accounts and currently manages more than $300 million on behalf of individuals and ministries of the ECC.

The successful candidate must be a good strategic thinker, a leader and a strong people and task manager and must possess a good financial understanding, including investments. This position requires good management and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and reflect a strong sense of personal ethics and integrity. A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required.
