Two Enabling Residences to Open in April
MUSKEGON, MI (March 9, 2001) - Covenant Enabling Residences of Michigan will open Mary's House and Joseph's House for developmentally disabled adults on April 16. The houses are part of Covenant Ministries of Benevolence (CMB) of the Evangelical Covenant Church. CMB President Paul Peterson will be present for the dedication ceremony May 20.Diana B. Finck is the new administrator for Covenant Enabling Residences of Michigan. Finck graduated with a degree in Behavioral Science (emphasis) from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. She previously worked at Kandu Industries for Supportive Employment in Grand Haven, Michigan, and had served as program director for Spectrum Community Services, a group home for the developmentally disabled in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Two supervisors have been hired for the homes, which are located next to Forest Park Covenant Church. Marie Babitz will move into Mary's House April 14 and Ken Baro will begin his duties at Joseph's House April 1. Each facility will house six people, according to Finck. CMB and Forest Park Covenant Church are partners in the project.
Project supporters Roger and Jane Missimer will host a kitchen shower at their home April 29 to raise money for appliances and other items at the homes.
