Covenanter Tells How Robots Build Other Robots

PITTSBURGH, PA (September 11, 2000) - North Park College graduate Chuck Thorpe, a principal research scientist at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was recently featured on ABC News discussing how robots are used to build other robots with minimal assistance from humans.

Thorpe, who attends Stoneridge Covenant Church in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, was featured in a report by ABC's John Yang. Thorpe is a leading expert in robotics in the United States. One of his developing projects would allow a vehicle to operate without human assistance, incorporating various geographical data.
