Sherman Named Great Lakes Associate Superintendent
HUDSON, OH (August 15, 2000) - Larry Sherman, former pastor at Redeemer Covenant Church in Carrolton, Texas, has accepted a call to become the new associate superintendent of the Great Lakes Conference, according to Kenneth C. Larson, chair of the conference.
Sherman will begin his duties November 1. He will work in the Detroit metropolitan area. His primary responsibilities will be church planting and coaching church planters throughout the conference. Sherman has served 13 years as pastor at Redeemer Covenant Church, previously engaged in church planting in California.
"We were very impressed with him for a couple reasons - his church planting experience and his doctorate of ministry degree thesis, which dealt with developing a strategic plan for church planting," Larson said. "He certainly has experience and brings a lot of expertise to the conference."
A graduate of North Park Theological Seminary, Sherman earned his undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He and his wife, Debbie, have three children.
