Short-Term and Career Missions Opportunities
(June, 2000) - The June listing of short-term and career mission opportunities has been released by the Department of World Mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church, and is as follows:AFRICA
- Business assistant, hostess, general missionary support in Bangui, Central African Republic - short-term.
- Veterinarian to work with Muslim Fulani and their herds - career or short-term.
- Physicians for hospital in Central African Republic - career or short-term.
- Fulani evangelism and church planting in Central African Republic - career.
- Fulani evangelism and church planting in Burkina Faso - career.
- Assisting in Fulani evangelism, film ministry in Burkina Faso - short-term.
- Accountants, secretaries in Burkina Faso - short-term.
COLOMBIA
- Development of church leadership in all areas - career and STM.
- Discipleship, evangelism, new believer classes, music and worship training.
- Working with Colombian social projects – day care, preschool, drug rehab, etc.
- Christian counseling and theological training.
- Administrative assistance, secretarial assistance/accounting.
- Host for work teams coming to Colombia.
ECUADOR
- Teaching English as a second language (ESL) - career or short-term.
- Computer specialists, science and math teachers, and camping ministries and administration.
- Seminary professors – career.
- Specialists in sports and music. (Footnote: short-term individuals in Ecuador are called by and work directly under the Ecuadorian church. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful.)
GERMANY
- Contact-making, evangelism, teaching and organizing English as a second language (ESL) classes.
- Athletes or others to organize and conduct sports ministries.
- Children's worker to assist in church planting, and discipler to work one-on-one with small groups. (Footnote: knowledge of the German language is helpful.)
JAPAN
- Church planting together with the Japan Covenant Church – career.
- Odawara Christian Center: administration, teaching, and preaching. Friendship evangelism through teaching English at Odawara Christian Center or other areas.
MEXICO (Mexico City)
- Ministry to university-age young people, women's ministries, sports ministries for children and youth.
- Evangelism and discipleship, children's ministry, and music, drama, and art/design ministry.
MEXICO (Oaxaca)
- Accountant, construction workers, and medical professionals.
- Youth and children's workers, professional family/marriage counselor.
- Music ministry.
MEXICO (Monterrey)
- Office support, including bookkeeping; ministry to children, family counseling.
- Facilitate leadership development and training seminars
- Compassion ministries.
MEXICO (Merge Ministries)
- Assistant director to work with mission teams under Dale Lusk, director of Merge Ministries.
TAIWAN
- Discipling, evangelism, pastoral care for new Filipino congregation - career or minimum two-year commitment preferred.
THAILAND
- Individuals with skills in development, discipleship, leadership training to work in teams with Thais for holistic outreach ministries. Good opportunity to reach the unreached – career.
- Dorm parents for developing MK school in Chiang Mai - short-term.
- Teachers for missionary children, preschool and primary age - short-term.
