North Park Celebrates 107th Commencement

CHICAGO (May, 2000) - A total of 235 undergraduates and 47 graduate students received degrees from President David G. Horner as North Park University celebrated its 107th commencement May 13.

Timothy D. Lundgren, a senior from Palatine, Illinois, received the Ahnfeldt Medallion, which is awarded to the student with the best academic record. Lundgren graduated summa cum laude with degrees in economics, English, and history. Lundgren also received the Lincoln Academy student laureate award for academic excellence and involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Students from 25 countries participated in commencement ceremonies. Special guests included 49 members of the North Park Junior College Class of 1950, who took part in the processional to celebrate their 50-year reunion on campus.

North Park University was founded in 1891 by the Evangelical Covenant Church and enrolls 2,300 students through day, evening and weekend programs.
