CBC-Ecuador Has New Address
ECUADOR (March 31, 2000) - Covenant Bible College recently purchased property in the town of La Merced and will house its new CBC-Ecuador campus there, according to CBC President Neil Josephson.
The property will be leased from the Association of Baptist Churches of Pininchia. The La Merced property was the first choice of the CBC board last August when the college entered an agreement to acquire a bible camp owned by the Southern Baptist Convention of North America. Negotiations stalled for a time, but the property changed ownership and a new agreement was completed.
An alternate site in nearby San Rafael had been acquired in January when original plans to use the La Merced site were altered. The San Rafael property will no longer be needed, however.
Josephson said that although the San Rafael property would have been adequate, the La Merced property will allow for a more spacious and comfortable setting. Ample classroom and office space, a thermal-heated pool and spacious dorm rooms for 30 students are among the benefits of the La Merced site.
