Associate Campus Administrators Sought by CRC

CHICAGO (February 8, 2000) - Covenant Retirement Communities is seeking to fill two associate administrator positions on two of its accredited CCAC campuses in Illinois – Batavia and Northbrook.

Both positions are accountable for assisting in overall campus operations, implementing all policies and procedures of Covenant Retirement Communities (CRC) and the campuses, assuring compliance and adherence to all federal, state and local governing regulations in order to assure safe, secure retirement communities.

In the course of communication with the respective campus administrators, these positions assure that communication with the operations vice presidents, local management advisory committees, staff and residents is maintained. Will assume overall responsibility of the respective campus in the absence of the campus administrator.

The Holmstadt

BATAVIA - This position reports directly to the campus administrator and is accountable for developing and maintaining basic understanding and a working knowledge of all departments in order to assist in coordinating and integrating all services provided. The individual participates in an ongoing active marketing and public relations program for The Holmstadt and Michaelsen Health Care Center. Assures residential and health facilities are in compliance with all federal, state and other governing agencies' requirements, including accreditation by Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, if applicable. Assists in the development and administration of up-to-date policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation of the annual operating plan, capital equipment and capital improvement and cash flow budgets.

Covenant Village of Northbrook

NORTHBROOK - This position reports directly to the campus administrator and is accountable for developing and maintaining basic understanding and working knowledge of all departments in order to assist in coordinating and integrating all services provided. They participate in an ongoing active marketing and public relations program for Covenant Village of Northbrook, Brandel Care Center and Axelson Manor. Assures residential and health facilities are in compliance with all federal, state and other governing agencies' requirements, including accreditation by Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, if applicable. Assists in the development and administration of up-to-date policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation of the annual operating plan, capital equipment and capital improvement and cash flow budgets.

The successful candidate for either position will have:

  • A Bachelor of Arts or science degree. A master's degree in an appropriately related field is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of three years' experience as an assistant administrator, a management leadership trainee, administrative assistant or other management position with leadership responsibilities of broad scope or work experience in a major supervisory capacity.
  • Requirement of education and experience for state nursing home administrator's licensure should be in progress of completion or completed.
  • A strong background in leadership roles in church and community is desirable. Background and membership in an Evangelical Covenant Church is expected.

Both positions require excellent interpersonal relation skills and the capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities. Ability to relate to and communicate with senior adults is necessary. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written English) and a thorough understanding of financial management are required. Considerable initiative, judgment and leadership skills are also required.

Equipment used in performance of duties includes a telephone, computer, printer, calculator, facsimile machine, copy machine and other related office equipment.

This position requires mobility to move around an office area and move about from one area of the campus to another. The position requires occasional handling of lightweight materials and the physical ability to use office equipment. The physical ability to assist a resident in a wheelchair or with walking is beneficial. Has minimal risk of exposure to accident and potentially infection material as part of the routine job function.
