Covenant Bible College Sets Enrollment Record
STRATHMORE, AB; WINDSOR, CO (October, 1999) - The two campuses of Covenant Bible College are celebrating the largest combined class in the 59-year history of the college - 134 students.
Classes began September 6 at CBC-Canada in Strathmore, Alberta, including 90 students from Canada and the United States and one each from Sweden and the Sudan. At the CBC-Midwest campus in Windsor, Colorado, classes began September 20 and included 44 students from the United States. Total enrollment reflects representation from 10 of the 11 conferences and regions of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
"We are excited to see the start of a new school year," says President Neil Josephson. "As always, we are privileged to have young men and women come with a desire to grow and become better equipped disciples of Jesus Christ."
Covenant Bible College is an eight-month program of study with a mission "to equip men and women to live as disciples of Jesus Christ." Students are discipled using a three-pronged approach:
- Spiritual Formation (to be shaped by the love of God)
- Biblical Knowledge (to be mastered by the word of God)
- Christian Ministry (partners in the work of God)
Covenant Bible College has grown significantly in the last 10 years. Since 1990, the number of students has grown from 32 to 134. The college is pursuing a third campus in Ecuador in partnership with the Department of World Mission - that campus is scheduled to open in the fall of 2000.
