Holmstad Retirement Community Adding Duplexes

BATAVIA, IL (June, 1999) - Increasing the number of independent living residences on campus to 329, The Holmstad recently broke ground for 10 duplex homes. The continuing care retirement community will build the new homes on a five-acre parcel on the southwest corner of its 38-acre campus.

Occupancy is projected for December - seventeen of the new homes have already been reserved. The duplex homes will be situated on an elongated cul-de-sac surrounding a fresh water pond. A central garage will separate the each pair of residences in the two-bedroom, two-bath duplex.

As a continuing care retirement community, The Holmstad provides four levels of care on campus. In addition to 329 residences for independent living, the community has 54 residences for independent living with "assistive" services, 27 licensed, sheltered care rooms, and 128 beds for skilled nursing and rehabilitative care.

Nationally accredited, The Holmstad is administered by Covenant Retirement Communities on behalf of the Board of Benevolence of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
