Tony Campolo to Address 1999 Annual Meeting

CHICAGO (June, 1999) - Nationally known speaker Tony Campolo will address the 1999 Annual Meeting of The Evangelical Covenant Church, it has been announced by Timothy Ek, ECC vice president.

The annual meeting, to be held June 23-25 in Green Lake, Wisconsin, immediately follows "The Feast," a Covenant family prayer conference June 20-23 at the same conference center. Campolo is scheduled to speak Wednesday evening, June 23, and again Thursday morning.

"Campolo is well known in the Christian world for combining evangelical passion with concerns for racial reconciliation," Ek said. Campolo has been a popular speaker at past CHIC events and at North Park University in Chicago.

The speaker combines two important themes, noted John Hunt, Covenant secretary: the conference theme "Taste and See That the Lord is Good," and the annual meeting theme "Celebrating Our Ethnic Diversity: Joining Together in Christ."
