Chicago Area Facility Joins CRC
CAROL STREAM, IL (September, 1998) - Windsor Park Manor, a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community serving nearly 500 residents in Carol Stream, IL, is affiliating with Chicago-based Covenant Retirement Communities, one of the nation's largest not-for-profit retirement community organizations. With the addition of Windsor Park Manor, CRC will operate 14 retirement communities in seven states, serving 4,500 residents and employing 2,100 people. Affiliation is expected to be completed by December 31.Windsor Park Manor is comprised of 365 independent living apartments, 23 assisted living units and 60 beds for skilled nursing care. While resident services and personnel will not change at Windsor Park Manor, the community will immediately benefit from access to CRC's strategic long-range planning, management information and marketing support services.
"This is an affiliation of like-minded organizations, both driven by a Christian mission to serve senior adults," said David A. Dwight, CRC president. "It offers Windsor Park Manor and its residents a stability and depth of expertise that is difficult for a retirement community to attain independently," he added.
The first CRC community was established in Chicago in 1886. With the addition of Windsor Park Manor, it will operate four communities in the Chicago area and 10 others in California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota and Washington.
