What is Covenant World Mission?

Our mission begins with the movement of God in our world, "the Word became flesh and dwelt with us, and we beheld His Glory, full of Grace and Truth" ( John 1:14). Since "the Word became flesh and dwelt with us," the focus is on human cultures. The message is the grace of God, as Jesus came to us "full of Grace and Truth."

We have the same mission today -- to take the Grace and Truth of Jesus Christ to all cultures of the world. In a sense, Jesus is reborn in the diverse cultures of our world, so that his grace and truth can be clearly seen and understood. God is still at work, breaking down the old lines that confine mission today. As he moves in the world, God is redefining the world mission of the Covenant Church. Covenant World Mission is responding to God's action -- to bring the good news to people in new ways. As a new strategy emerges, Covenant World Mission has defined its mission with five basic goals.

Plant contextualized churches
Train grassroots church leaders
Enable local church holistic ministry
Develop appropriate organizational stuctures
Move in mission partnership with national churches
