Alice Westlind sat on the steps of an old run down house in the fishing village of Manzanillo, Colombia, thanking God. She had long dreamed of ministering in this poor community and knew that because of North American Covenant Churches her dream would be fulfilled in a creative way. Bayside Covenant Church in Granite Bay, California, became a part of the dream. With their financial and prayerful support all of the items needed to host the first ever Vacation Bible School in Cartagena were purchased. Daily 50 children would pour into two crowded classrooms in 90 degree heat wanting to learn more about Jesus. Bayside Covenant Church's gift expanded and impacted both children and teachers. One of the teachers, summed up her experience by saying, "the Christian faith is all about giving...isn't it?"

Missionaries like Alice and Mark Westlind rely on support from churches and people like you to make their work possible. Getting involved may mean supporting a mission project or missionary in a church's budget. Or it may mean getting involved in a specific project as a way to focus on mission.

For Grace Covenant Church in Clay, New York, this meant that the Sunday school classes raised funds for new dry-erase boards for classrooms at the Abundant Life Center in Thailand. Bruce Baehr, associate pastor of Grace Covenant, sees supporting missionaries as an extension of the church ministry.
