Christian Formation Emphasis Fall 2004

Your church has received packets from the Department of Christian Formation containing some tools to help you plan an intentional focus on spiritual growth for your congregation this fall. We have also provided some of these materials here in downloadable format for your convenience.

Children’s Sermon Series - “Bearing the Marks – A Call to Discipleship” is the title of the Covenant’s emphasis this year. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the martyrdom of Paul Carlson, Covenant missionary to Congo. This series of children’s sermons follows that theme.

Service of Consecration – A service of consecration for Christian Formation volunteers.

GROW Commitment Service – A service that can be used to introduce the GROW commitment cards and your desire to see everyone in the congregation grow in their relationships with Christ.

Christian Formation Preparation Calendar – Ideas for preparing your church for a Christian Formation emphasis accompanied by a sample calendar and a blank calendar for filling in your own.

Monthly Personal GROWth Plan – a sample of a personal GROWth plan as well as a blank form for you to fill out for your own use.

Teaching for Transformation – This two-sided sheet gives you a definition of a Christian formation teacher/leader and a chart to assist you in the transition from CE to CF.

Bulletin Insert - This can be copied and used as is. Just add the date.

GROW Bible Study Guide – 2-page master makes the bookmarks that fit inside the GROW Bible Study Guide plastic sleeve available from the Covenant Resource Center.

Life is a Journey – An article that can be reproduced for your church newsletter if you choose.
