Welcome to Congregational Planning.
Primarily, we want conference staff members to see
this as a place to check for ideas, as well as to share their thoughts
and hear from others. It is a site that is also available to anyone
looking for ideas related to congregational planning. We want to
provide ideas, tools, and resources that you can use in your work
with congregations or your local church. With this vision we invite
you to send your ideas to us. What books and strategies do you like
to use to aide in congregational planning? What strategies have
you developed to help you work with local churches? What questions
or concerns have you been struggling with in relation to congregational

This site will continue to grow. We are beginning
with four areas: a summary of planning models, planning tools (meeting
designs) that you might find helpful, planning resources (including
book reviews and a summary of planning surveys), and a report on
the congregational governance and planning survey that was conducted
in the fall of 2003. In the future we may add a 12 month congregational
planning calendar, a directory of human resources and discussion
starter quotations for board or committee discussion.
Two resources that you might find helpful in this
current collection are the chart comparing the Key Church Elements
as identified in various resources (see the Planning Tools section)
and the Samples from Congregational Surveys (see the Resource List
section).
