VOLUME VI for 2007
Plans are already underway for "Women to Remember - Volume VI" which will be ready for Triennial XII in 2007. As we did for Volume V, we are searching for not one, but two kinds of stories.

Once again we are searching for stories of individual women of faith who have had an impact on their local, conference, denominational or international communities. Do you know a woman – a relative, a mentor, a friend, a church leader – whose story would inspire others?
The Women's History Commission is also searching for a different kind of story. We are looking for stories of compassion ministries led by women that have impacted their church or community. Today's women are both inspired and challenged by ministries of compassion and justice that make a difference in their world. We want to tell those stories, too. That's where YOU come in! We know you know of just such faith-based ministries from your own church - and we want your help to tell the stories of women who joined together to start them!

As extra incentive, we're having a competition. Three stories will be awarded special recognition as First Place, Second Place, and Third Place winners, with cash awards of $100, $75, and $50 respectively. And selected entries will be published in inSpirit, the magazine of Covenant Women Ministries, and on this website.

Here are some guidelines in telling your story:

  1. Stories of both individuals and groups should be no longer than 2,000 words.
  2. For compassion ministries, describe purpose, function, and growth of the ministry - highlighting the women inspired to begin it. Stories may be either from a historical perspective for an already-completed project, or an account of an ongoing ministry that women have been serving in for at least five years.
  3. Manuscripts should be typed, double spaced.
  4. If possible, also send a computer disk, in either WordPerfect or Microsoft Word formats.
  5. Include your name, address, and phone number.
  6. A head-shot photo of the subject of stories on individual women would be appreciated, and will be returned. A photo of the group of women who started the ministry or of the ministry, would be welcome and will be returned.
  7. Deadline for submissions: February 1, 2007.
  8. Please help us highlight "Women to Remember" and their ministries!
