WOMEN MINISTRIES offer an in depth leadership training seminar, called a Coordinators Summit, for coordinators of women ministries. The seminar will give you the tools you need to design diversified ministries uniquely suited to the women of your local church.
If you have not yet participated in a Summit, you are strongly encouraged to receive this training. A Ministry Coach in your Conference can take you and others on your leadership team through this valuable experience. To learn who your Ministry Coach is, contact your Conference Women Ministries President. A brief summary of the Coordinators Summit materials is listed below.
You As A Leader and Your Vision
Three characteristics of a leader – Leaders need to be women after God's own heart and able to discern God's plans for women's ministries in their local church.
Writing a vision statement – What do you want to see happen with the women of your church? More pointedly, what does Jesus want to see?
Writing a mission statement – Why do you exist?
All ministries will flow out of and be supported by the answers to these questions.
The ABCs of Women Ministries
A for Assess – Two steps that identify and understand the unique women of your church.
B for Build – Five steps to build ministries that minister to the women of your unique church.
C for Confirm – Three steps to confirm that your ministries are reaching their goals.
A Visual Aid for Designing Your Women Ministries
The image of a tree will enable you to visualize the steps in designing women ministries, as well as appreciate the importance of diversified ministries.
The root system – your vision, the source of power that fuels your ministries.
The trunk - your mission statement that supports and empowers your Women's ministries. It both channels the power of your vision to each ministry and connects each ministry to a unifying purpose.
The large branches of the tree – your ministry priorities. The number of ministry priorities is dependent first on your vision and mission statements, but also on the unique dynamics of your church.
The small branches – individual ministries. These will be as diverse as the women of your church, but they will all flow out of the unifying vision and mission statements.
The fruit – the end result. With clearly stated purposes and goals, these ministries will bear fruit to the glory of God.
The image of the tree can help you determine if your present ministries are unified, balanced, realistic, and above all realizing your vision.
