Coordinators Connection — Enriching Resources for Women

The Calendar . . .

A Walk Through the Year graphic

January

  • Watch for your first main mailing of the year from the WM Office! It will be sent to your church office and will include your Annual Project video and all sorts of important information for the coming year.
  • WM Annual Project brochures are now available from the Covenant Resource Center in time for WM Sunday in February. Phone 1-800-338-IDEA to order your free brochures.
  • Will you be having a Spring Retreat for the women of your church? Now is the time to reserve a good meeting place and make preliminary plans. If you think your church might be too small, consider partnering with another church.
  • Are you coming to Midwinter in Chicago? Plan now to attend the WM Breakfast Tuesday morning.
  • The Winter issue of inSpirit will arrive this month. Are you subscribed?

February

  • The beginning of a new fiscal year at the Denominational level. WM Sunday is the second weekend in February. It's a wonderful time to celebrate Women Ministries and to introduce new initiatives to your community. The current WM Annual Project is typically introduced that Sunday.
  • If you are planning a Spring Retreat, consider offering two options: a full weekend and a Saturday only for those unable to stay longer.
  • Suggested month for sending in Ministry Support to the WM Office (and your conference).
  • Were you unable to show the Annual Project video in a Sunday morning service? Think of ways to show it in other settings: Women's Bible studies, small groups, Spring Retreats, unifying event in May, etc.

March

  • A great month to schedule a Coordinator Summit, the leadership training for women ministry leaders. Perhaps a group of churches could host one together. Talk to your Conference WM President.
  • Your donations for Special Interest Missionaries projects are distributed to your missionaries.
  • Your Conference's Annual Meeting is just weeks away. Plan now to attend the Women Ministries event to hear an update on Conference projects and to benefit from seminars designed for you.
  • May your Spring retreat be a blessing to all!

April

  • An ideal time to start planning a unifying event for May. Consider hosting an outreach event for all generations, encouraging your women to invite unchurched friends.
  • Encourage your women to attend the Conference Annual Meeting.
  • Is there a woman who has made a significant contribution to Women Ministries, your church or your community whom you'd like to recognize? Recognition Awards, a WM pin and accompanying card, are available from the WM Office. Allow two weeks for processing. Names are printed in the inSpirit magazine.
  • The spring issue of inSpirit will arrive this month. An inSpirit subscription would make a great gift for women you want to recognize, for women staff, for spouses of staff, or a Mother's Day gift.

May

  • A great month to host a unifying event for local women. If they haven't seen the Annual Project video, consider including it in your program.
  • Will you be concluding some ministries this month? Remember to give participants in each ministry an evaluation form. This will help your leadership team do an objective evaluation in July.

June

  • A time for rest from programs that have been taking place through the ‘school' year.
  • Will you be attending the Covenant Annual Meeting? Plan now to attend the WM event for inspiring information on ministries to and through women of our denomination.

July
  • This is an ideal time to evaluate each of your ministries to determine if they met your goals and how they might be improved. Use the Women Ministries evaluation form from the Coordinator's Summit.
  • The summer issue of inSpirit will arrive this month. Do your women know of this inspiring magazine?
  • 5,000 women across the denomination attend Fall Retreats sponsored by your Conference Women Ministries! Many are sold out. You can help your local women participate in these spiritually renewing—and fun—retreats by starting publicity early.

  • This is a great month to strategize for the coming year. What new programs will you begin? New Bible Studies? Mentoring programs? Small groups? Outreach events? This would be a great time to contact your Ministry Coach who is trained to help you strengthen your Women Ministries. Download any section you like free of charge, or order the complete copy from the WM Office.
  • You may want to schedule an overnight retreat for your leadership team. A prayerful retreat format can help discern God's plans for women's ministries.
  • This is a good time to plan a unifying event in September or October to kick off women ministries for the fall. Consider preparing a brochure listing all the opportunities for women in the year ahead. It's a great tool for including new women in the church family.

September

  • Conference Retreats!!! Don't miss any leadership training opportunities for Coordinators!

October

  • The fall issue of inSpirit will arrive this month. Is your leadership team benefiting from this inspiring and informative magazine?
  • Suggested time to send in 2nd donation of Ministry Support to denominational WM Office.

November

  • An ideal time to plan a unifying event for the Christmas season. Consider inviting a speaker gifted in evangelism to share the true meaning of Christmas.

December

  • The Christmas Blessings Calendar for Thank Offering focuses on our missionaries and the blessings we enjoy that may not be available where they are serving. The calendar is available from the WM Office and you can download it here. Thank Offerings support the denominational vision for women ministries.
  • Your Special Interest Missionaries have named a non-budgetary project to enhance their ministries and your conference WM has been collecting donations to forward to the denominational WM Office. If you haven't yet sent your donation, would you please send it to your conference WM treasurer?
  • Local WM Christmas Outreach event.
