Don
Meyer is a 30-year veteran daily newspaper reporter, editor and
publisher who assumed leadership of the Department of Communication
in 1997 as executive director (now executive minister) and editor
of Covenant publications. His early newspaper reporting career
included covering state government offices for the Chicago Tribune
with the latter years spent as editor and publisher for dailies
in the Ogden Newspapers group, including 20 years as publisher
of the daily newspaper in Jamestown, New York, where he was a
member of Zion Covenant Church. He has two married children and
three grandchildren living in Buffalo, New York, and Port Allegany,
Pennsylvania, where his son serves as pastor of the Covenant church
in Port Allegany. As avid boater, Don also enjoys tennis, golf,
skiing and biking. He is a member of North Park Covenant Church
in Chicago.

Jane
has been Covenant Communications since 1979. In addition to the
magazine she oversees the publication of books published by Covenant
Publications. Jane and her husband have three young children,
who she describes as "wonderful, funny, inspiring, and opinionated."
When asked what she does in her spare time, she gives a blank
star and asks, "What's spare time?"
Favorite
book: Anything written by Barbara Kingsolver or Tony Hillerman.

Bob Smietana
Features Editor Bob joined the staff of Covenant Communications
in August 1999 after completing his masters in written communication
at National Louis University. (He also has a degree in religion
from North Park University). He spends his spare time writing,
playing with his kids (two daughters and a son), and following
the Boston Red Sox and the, until recently, world champion New
England Patriots. Bob and his wife Kathy attend Libertyville Covenant
in Libertyville, IL.
Favorite
Book: Any book he can get a hold of (Bob's a little bit addicted
to reading). Recent favorites are: "I am a Stranger Here Myself"
and "In a Sunburned Country" by Bill Bryson; the Aubrey-Maturin
books by Patrick O'Brian; the Harry Potter series; and "Bird by
Bird" and "Operating Instructions" by Anne Lamott.

Craig
joined the staff of Covenant Communications in January 2000. A
communication studies major at North Central College in Naperville,
IL, Craig previously worked as a reporter and copy editor at the
Contra Costa Times, Walnut Creek, CA. He has served in the newspaper
profession for over a decade, having won two journalism awards
while in California. Craig also has done ministry, having served
six years as a youth pastor after pursuing a Master of Divinity
at North Park Theological Seminary. While at NPTS he served as
Director of Sports Information at North Park University. In his
spare time he plays amateur baseball, having won more than 100
games as a pitcher.
Favorite
Book: "Searching for God at Harvard" by Ari Goldman, a book written
by a Jewish NY Times religion writer about his faith journey during
a sabbatical year in college.
