1. Students may decide to take a course for credit or for non-credit; however, this decision cannot be changed after the start of the course. Courses not taken for academic credit, that is, taken for non-credit, will require no less than 75% of for-credit requirements. All students must be involved in the classes through regular attendance, completion of readings and projects, and in-class interaction.

2. Deadlines for projects are six weeks after the conclusion of the course. The administrative assistant must receive all work by that date. Missed deadlines will automatically result in a grade of "F" for courses taken for academic credit and for non-credit. Such courses will not be counted as fulfilling the External Orientation requirement, and must be taken again in full at a later date.

3. In cases of emergency, extensions may be granted upon approval of the instructor and the dean of Faculty. Written applications must be received before the expiration of the original course deadline. If an extension is granted, the course will be deemed "incomplete" until class work is submitted and graded. An extension lengthens the original deadline by 45 days. Work not completed, submitted and received by the end of the 45-day extension will automatically result in a grade of "F" for courses taken for academic credit and for non-credit. Such courses must be taken again in full at a later date. All letters of application for extensions must be sent to the administrative assistant for Covenant External Orientation, who will bring them to the attention of Dean of the Faculty of North Park Theological Seminary for consideration.

4. Students are required to complete incomplete courses and courses with the grade of "F" before they may enroll in other Covenant Orientation classes.

5. Students are to submit final projects to the administrative assistant for Covenant External Orientation, who will deliver them in a timely manner to faculty for grading. When completed, faculty will return papers to him/her for distribution to students.

6. Faculty will submit grades for courses within four weeks of the deadline for final projects. Grades should be submitted to administrative assistant for Covenant External Orientation, who shall submit grades to the Seminary Academic Coordinator in a timely manner.

7. Records for both credit and non-credit classes will be maintained by the North Park University Records Office.

8. Once per year, the administrative assistant for Covenant External Orientation will send reports of student progress to all enrolled in the program.

9. The regular process of the North Park Theological Seminary faculty will approve all syllabi for new courses.

10. All adjunct faculty will be approved by the Covenant External Orientation Implementation Committee following the guidelines of the seminary.

11. Students who do not finish the CEOP in the maximum of six years, need to inform their conference superintendent. With his/her approval, they may petition the CEOP Committee for approval to continue their enrollment in the CEOP. There will be an additional yearly tuition charge of $500 for up to three additional years. This extra tuition fee is to be paid by the enrolled pastor, and is not covered in church planting agreements. Failure to complete the CEOP may result in the inability to renew credentials.

12. All policies are under the authority of the seminary Dean of Faculty

13. In the first two years of study, students in the CEOP must take the courses "History and Theology of the Evangelical Covenant Church" and "Theological Distinctives of the Evangelical Covenant Church". The last course of study for a student will be "The Wrap-up: Orienting Others to the Evangelical Covenant Church".
