About "The Great Open Door"

The Evangelical Covenant Church in North America has committed to raise $1 million over the next five years in support of outreach initiatives in mainland China, working in partnership with the Taiwan Covenant Church.

The goal is to raise $200,000 each year through additional support from individuals and local Covenant churches – voluntary offerings that provide churches with additional strategic opportunities beyond the regular shared ministry budget.

There are a number of resources available to help local Covenant churches develop their own China initiative emphases, as well as a link for interested individuals to donate online using a major credit card. “There is a window of opportunity . . . to reach out to China,” says Covenant pastor John Martz, part of a five-member Covenant World Mission team that visited China in 2005. “How long that window will remain open, God only knows.”
